Kyla Hooper
Founder / Psychotherapist
"I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become."
– Carl Jung
As an experienced Psychotherapist, Counselling Therapist and RTC, it is an honour to support clients through difficult seasons of life and help them move toward healthier, more fulfilling ways of living and connecting. I have also been recognized as one of Medicine Hat’s top marriage counsellors, with a strong focus on helping couples improve communication, rebuild trust, navigate conflict, and strengthen connection. When was the last time you truly felt heard? Life can become overwhelming quickly. Stress, burnout, anxiety, relationship struggles, emotional exhaustion, family conflict, and the pressure of trying to hold everything together can begin impacting every area of life — including work, relationships, confidence, and overall wellbeing. Sometimes people are not looking for perfection or quick fixes; they are simply looking for support, clarity, and a place where they can finally exhale. I believe therapy should feel practical, supportive, and grounded in real life. My approach focuses on helping individuals, couples, and families better understand the challenges they are facing while building realistic tools that improve emotional wellbeing, communication, coping skills, stability, and long-term resilience. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore emotions, gain insight, and work through the barriers that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we focus on developing practical strategies to manage stress, challenge negative thought patterns, improve relationships, regulate emotions, and create meaningful, lasting change. I offer individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions in Medicine Hat, as well as virtual services throughout Alberta. Whether you are navigating personal challenges, relationship difficulties, burnout, life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed, you do not have to work through it alone.

Provisional Psychologist
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
I am a registered provisional psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Armed with a solid foundation—a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Professional Arts in Human Services from Athabasca, and a Speech Language Pathology Assistant Diploma from Medicine Hat College—I possess a wealth of foundational knowledge in supporting individuals with their social and emotional development. My journey includes meaningful experiences, from fostering youth development in academic and social settings to peer mentoring with FASD youth. As a community mentor, I actively engage in the youth sports community, emphasizing collaboration and collective support. Professionally, my focus lies in providing compassionate care for individuals experiencing various issues, including depression, anxiety, relational (e.g., social, marriage, parenting, etc.), trauma, and those grappling with existential concerns like identity, life transitions, grief, and loss. I employ trauma informed, evidenced-based approaches such as person-centered, solution-focused, emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy with plans to broaden my scope to include internal family systems. Eager to apply my growing knowledge and skills, I am committed to fostering a supportive environment for youth and adults. Ready for transformative self-discovery?
